Physical Therapy using the McKenzie Method (Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy)
The McKenzie Method, also known as Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), is a structured, evidence-based approach to evaluating and treating spine and extremity pain. Developed by physical therapist Robin McKenzie, this method uses repeated movements and sustained positions to assess how your body responds-helping identify the specific mechanical cause of your pain rather than just treating symptoms. Learn how certain movements affect your pain, get specific exercises to manage your symptoms and improve your function to become self-sufficient. Assessment and treatment is provided by a credentialed physical therapist in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy.
Pre-habilitation prior to surgical intervention
“Prehab” or pre-surgical rehabilitation, is physical therapy done before surgery to help your body handle the procedure better and recover faster afterward. Programs are tailored to your specific surgery and health status, often focusing on building strength, improving mobility and optimizing function in the areas that will be most affected. Whether you’re preparing for a joint replacement, spinal surgery,or another procedure, prehab gives you a head start on rehab-helping you feel more confident and prepared going into your operation.
